Aegean
Aegean is a Greek carrier, the largest in this country. It was founded in 1987, under the name Aegean Aviaton, by Antonis and Nikolaos Simigdalas. Initially, the airline served charter flights mainly for VIPs on Learjet aircraft. Under the name it is known until today, the carrier has been operating since 1999, and since then it has been running individual sale of airline tickets. In 2005, the airline began to cooperate in Lufthansa, in 2006 with the Portuguese TAP lines, in 2008 with Brussels Airlines and in 2010 they joined the Star Alliance. Since October 2013, the carrier has been the owner of its largest national rival, the Olympic Air line, but both lines have their own names, logos, separate planes and personnel. In the grid of Greek connections, there are most European airports and ports in Egypt, Israel and Cyprus. In Poland, the carrier is present at the airports in Katowice, Kraków, Wroclaw and Warsaw. Aegean Airlines for its punctuality have been rewarded and honoured.
