Very professional

Very dissapointed with my experience on this trip as delayed both ways I paid £274 for 1 hour domestic journey. The reason I chose to fly was to save time and would have been cheaper to take alternative transport. This experience has really put me off using eastern airways to fly to Newquay and I would not recommend. My return flight to gatwick was cancelled after hanging around the airport 4 hours then getting to board then flight cancelled . This was very disruptive for the plans arranged.

Delays Delays
I booked Eastern Airways to fly from Newquay to Gatwick. Here are the good and bad aspects: Good: The aircraft were small but comfortable. The cabin trolley service was good. The planes flew at relatively low altitude on a route that takes you over a lot of coast so if visibility is good you can get an excellent view of some of the beautiful beaches. Once in the air the journey time was good. Not good: I was told to get to newquay airport 2 hours before departure time, however check in wasn't open for 30 mins resulting in a needless wait. 30 minutes before boarding a delay of 40 minutes 'for maintenance' was announced. Considering that the aircraft was in place at the departure gate for at least 2 hours before departure, it was quite annoying that the maintenance had to wait right until the last minute. On the return journey from Gatwick, we boarded on time , but were held at the gate for 15 minutes because of an apparent bird strike on the runway. We pushed back and taxi'd - but then stopped, engines running - for 40 minutes (yes 40) while about 25 planes took priority over us and took off in front of us. No communication or explanation was given. After 35 minutes I asked a member of the cabin crew who talked to me as if I was a terrorist.
