easyJet

EasyJet, headquartered at London Luton Airport, is budget airline which offers cheap flights on 800 routes to over 30 countries. The UK's largest carrier, flying over 80 million passengers per year, operates a modern fleet of Airbus aircraft. The carrier aims at ensuring that every trip is safe and comfortable while offering flights at affordable price. Beside short-haul, point-to-point flights the airline offers connecting flights to far away destinations with Worldwide by easyJet.

London Luton Airport

London Luton Airport, one of the UK's largest airports, is located to the north-west of central London. In 2018, it carried over 16.5 million people, becoming the fifth busiest airport in the UK. The airport offers great shopping experience with a wide range of shops selling: high fashion clothes, accessories, cosmetics, holiday essentials and various gifts. It has many restaurants and bars which serve up main dishes, including vegetarian options, sandwiches, pastries, hot and cold drinks. When flying within the EU, shopping can be done before the departure and picked-up after the journey. For those driving to the airport there are different short-term and long-term parking options depending on the proximity of the terminal. It is recommended to pre-book parking space online to save up to 70%. Travellers can use free WiFi for 4 hours. There is a charge for a longer connection time which starts at £3 per hour. At the airport there are also: a multi-faith prayer room located in the departures area available for passengers of all faiths or none, toilets, both with disabled and baby changing facilities, cash machines and currency exchange.

Baggage policy

Passengers can bring one cabin bag of 56x45x25cm or smaller per person on board. It must fit in the overhead locker or under the seat in front of the passenger. As cabin space is limited, the remaining cabin bags are transported in the aircraft hold. Bag sizes are checked before boarding. Those exceeding the maximum dimensions are considered checked baggage so an extra fee applies. Bags can also be measured at home before the flight with easyJet Travel App using the bag sizing tool. The maximum weight of any single piece of baggage is 32kg per bag and 275cm (length + width + height) maximum total size. There are some additional items allowed in the cabin, for instance: umbrella, crutches, walking stick or duty free goods bought at the airport.

Check-in

Online check-in can be done on easyJet mobile app or through Manage Bookings on the website between 30 days and 2 hours prior to the flight. Every change made to a booking requires printing off a new boarding pass. Mobile boarding passes can be used only if the airport accepts them. Check-in at the airport can be done between 2 hours and 40 minutes before the departure.

Booking classes

Apart from a standard fare, which includes the flight and a cabin bag, easyJet offers three additional options: Flexi Fare, easyJet Plus and Flight Club. Flexi Fare is a ticket which allows free date and time changes, complimentary 23kg checked baggage, an under seat bag as well as £7 Bistro voucher to be used on board. With easyJet Plus subscription travellers can choose their plane seat, be first on board and get extra cabin baggage. Flight Club is an invitation-only loyalty programme for frequent fliers which gives a multitude of benefits such as: fee-free reservation changes, a refund if there is a cheaper flight with a different airline, free name changes or preview of schedule seat releases and sales. The benefits also apply when travelling with family and/or friends on the same booking.

Travelling with children

When booking a flight there are two options for families to be seated together: checking-in early, even 30 days prior to the departure, as seats are assigned on a first come first served basis, or selecting the seats for a fee. Passengers travelling with a child can bring two children's travel items for free as well as baby food, baby milk and sterilised water. Infants up to 2 years old can sit on their parent's lap for a fee. If a child has their own seat, they have the same baggage allowance as grown-ups. Breastfeeding mothers can feed during the flight. There are also baby changing facilities on a plane.

Refreshments

EasyJet does not provide free meals or drinks on its flights, but there is an easy way to save even 20% on refreshments - before embarking on a journey, travellers can purchase a voucher online, print it off and enjoy cheaper refreshments and meals during the flight. There is a wide variety of food that can be ordered at the bistro, it includes: drinks, sandwiches, savoury and sweet snacks.

Onboard services

EasyJet has its on-board Boutique where passengers can buy luxurious items such as perfumes, cosmetics, accessories. As easyJet flies mostly short routes, there is no entertainment provided during the flight. However, portable electronic devices in flight safe mode are allowed on board. To make time fly faster, passengers can read the airline's in-flight magazine Traveller that features interesting articles and information about its destinations. If there is a special occasion, a cabin crew member can make an announcement during the flight. There is an onboard wheel chair available to help people with disabilities get to and from the toilet which is fitted with grab handles and rails but there are no dedicated staff who help with visiting the toilet, eating, drinking, etc.
