The international airport in Sofia is one of the largest airports in Bulgaria. The airport is located about 10 km east of the capital Sofia. Its origins date back to 1930. The airport has two terminals. T1 has existed since 1937 and in 2000, it has been completely renovated. Currently, it operates low-cost and charter airlines. T2 started operations in 2006 and is intended for scheduled carriers. In total, the airport serves about 30 airlines. It serves over 4 million passengers a year, and their number increases during the summer due to the large number of tourists visiting the country. The nearest hotels are located in the centre of Sofia.

Bus
From the airport, as well as to the airport, you can easily and quickly get by buses that run from the centre of Sofia. Buses run frequently and regularly.
Line 84 connects the airport with the city centre.
Line 384 connects the airport with the Tsarigradsko metro station.
Metro
Metro station is located near Terminal 2. Line 1 connects the airport with the city centre. The ticket can be purchased at ticket offices or vending machines.
Railway
The railway station at the airport connects it with the railway station in Sofia.
Taxis are available at the airport and in the city centre at any time of the day. Taxi stands are located near the entrances to the departure and arrival hall.
When travelling by car, the best option to get to the airport is to choose the E80 road, because Sofia Airport (SOF) is located near this road. When using this option, getting to the airport shouldn't be a problem, the road is well-marked.

Gastronomy - in Terminal 1 there are mainly cafes and bars. You can buy all kinds of drinks and snacks, such as sandwiches and sweets. Larger restaurants and fast food can be found in Terminal 2. You can also have a coffee or tea and buy sandwiches there.
Disabled passengers – Terminal 2 was designed with special regard to the needs of people with disabilities.
Shopping – There are press salons and a souvenir shop at Terminal 1. Larger purchases can be made at Terminal 2, where many shops are located, such as bookstores, pharmacies, florists, jewellery stores, clothing, electronics, tobacco and liquor stores, as well as press salons and duty-free shops.
Car rental – car rental companies operate mainly in Terminal 2 between 6 a.m. and 12 a.m.

Luggage - luggage trolleys and luggage rooms are available to passengers. In Terminal 2, there is a Lost and Found office. Luggage can be secured in both terminals against damage with a protective foil.
