Trondheim
Trondheim, located on the Trondheimsfjord at the mouth of the Nidelva River, is a city in Norway with a rich history. Founded in 996 by Olaf Tryggvason, it served as the capital of Viking Norway until 1217. Today, it is an important industrial center and port. Renowned for the Nidaros Cathedral and winter sports, it offers cross-country trails and ski jumps. Home to about 212,660 residents, the best time to visit is during the summer months, when the days are longest and temperatures are mild.
