Gothenburg
Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden, lies on the country's west coast on the Kattegat strait. It has more than 510 thousand inhabitants. It is the capital of the Västra Götaland region and the home of the Volvo and SKF corporations. Founded in the 17th century, the city grew in importance thanks to trade with China.
