Murcia
Murcia, the capital of the region with the same name, is located in southeastern Spain along the Segura River. Known as the Orchard of Europe, it boasts the Baroque Santa Maria Cathedral with its 92-meter-high tower. Founded in 825, the city was the capital of an independent state until 1243. The semi-desert climate ensures mild winters and hot summers with little rainfall. Murcia is home to over 643,000 residents. Citrus and vine cultivation flourish here. It's best to visit in spring or autumn when temperatures are more pleasant.
