Sibiu
Sibiu, a city in central Romania, lies in Transylvania on the River Cibin. It is the capital of Sibiu County. Founded in 1190 by Saxon colonists, it soon became an important trading centre. In the 14th century the city was renowned for its many craft guilds. Today Sibiu attracts visitors with its historic architecture, including medieval walls and churches.
