    Brasov
    Brasov, in the heart of Romania on the Transylvanian Plateau, is the country's eighth largest city, 166 km from Bucharest. It is an important transport hub and an academic centre with its own university. The city takes pride in a rich history reaching back to the 12th century, when Saxon settlers made their home here. It is home to the football club FC Brasov as well as machinery and chemical industries. A temperate climate with cool winters and warm summers makes spring and autumn the best seasons to visit.
