Adria Airways
Slovenian national airline Adria Airways have been present on the market since 1961. Originally, the carrier was called Inex-Adria Airways. The first flight took place with Dutch crew on board after purchasing two DC-6B planes from KLM. In 1967 the company suffered from a various crisis, which ended up with the bankruptcy proceedings in 1968. However, the bankruptcy did not happen. In 1970, the carrier’s fleet was renewed, the first jet plane McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 and four DC-6 were bought.
Since 1996 Adria Airways has been a partner of the German Lufthansa, and since 2004 it belongs to Star Alliance. From spring 2014, the carrier’s planes land at Polish airports.
