Thai Airways

Thai Airways International are the carrier of Thailand, whose head office is located in Bangkok. The beginnings of the airlines date back to 1960, but it started its activity only a year later. For years, it has operated under the name Thai Airways, but in 1987 the name of the airline was changed to the one that functions to this day.

The airlines have in their fleet Airbus and Boeing vehicles whose flights are marked as TG in IATA. Travels take place both within the country and abroad. Thanks to this, when purchasing air tickets, passengers can travel to over 70 destinations around the world such as Dubai, Melbourne and Milan.

Luggage at Thai Airways International

When choosing Thai airlines, it’s worth taking a look at the conditions of transporting luggage. The quantity and maximum weight depend on the chosen booking class, and membership in the loyalty programme. A passenger who has purchased an economy class flight ticket will be able to bring two checked-in pieces of luggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg per piece. However, the circumference of each of them cannot exceed 158 cm.

For business travel and travel in first class, the weight limit is increased to 32 kg, but the circumference does not change. The situation is different if the passenger has a membership card. In that case, he can bring one more piece of luggage.

An additional item that every traveller can bring is hand luggage. As in the case of registered baggage, the amount and weight of luggage depend on the chosen form of travel. At Thai Airways International, hand baggage can have dimensions of 56x45x25 cm and a maximum weight of 7 kg. In the case of economy class, passengers are allowed one piece of luggage, while business classes, first classes and memberships have an increased limit to two pieces.

Booking classes

The airlines offer first, ‘silk’ and economic booking classes. Each of them is prepared to the highest standard, and combines comfort and exceptional care for passengers.

Each class guarantees comfortable seating and a warm meal and drinks. On top of that, passengers have access to a rich collection of movies and music that will ensure perfect entertainment during the flight. The airlines also keep in mind their youngest passengers to whom they provide a number of games that will effectively make the travel more enjoyable. Depending on the chosen class, passengers can take advantage of various amenities such as semi-apartments in the first class, or folded seats in the ‘silk’ class.

Online check-in

One of the great amenities in preparation for travel is the option of online check-in. The airlines are eager to use them, because this method comes with many advantages, such as convenience or time saving. You can prepare your boarding pass without leaving your home, so you don’t have to queue at the airport while waiting for check-in.

Fleet at THAI

Thai Airways care not only for comfort, but also for the safety of its passengers. On board of its fleet the airlines have introduced modern technology and train their employees to constantly improve the quality of service to provide an appropriate reaction whenever needed.

The fleet of the airline includes close to 100 vehicles, which can be divided into two types: Airbus and Boeing. The planes have from 149 to 507 seats, the number of which affects the classes they contain.

Additional services

Thai Airways International can lead by example in caring for its customers. All amenities and various types of entertainment are guaranteed on board, offering a successful journey regardless of the time of haul.

Flights in each class provide Wi-Fi access and an extensive library of films and music. On top of that, there are various types of games for children. What is more, there is a soft pillow, warm blanket and comfortable slippers waiting for each passenger. It is also worthwhile mentioning that ladies and gentlemen in the first and ‘silk’ classes are offered cosmetics, thanks to which they can freshen up during the journey.

One of the most important services is the loyalty programme created by Thai Airways International, which brings together its customers. With this programme, passengers can earn miles during their travels and benefit from many exciting promotions and rewards in the future.

Airport

The main port for Thai Airways International airlines is the Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi port located in Racha Thewa, about 30 km from Bangkok. The airport currently has a capacity of about 45 million passengers, but there are plans to build two runways, which will increase the number to about 100 million.

There is a duty-free zone where you can find many shops of all kinds. You can buy almost anything there, from basic necessities like cosmetics to global clothing brands. On top of that, passengers can count on a meal that they can enjoy in about 50 gastronomic outlets. The offer is extremely rich as it is dedicated to people from around the world. Depending on the direction of your trip, you can encounter 24/7 restaurants with regional cuisine. Furthermore, the airport offers a hotel with nearly 600 rooms where customers can relax during the journey.

Additional information

The airline offers meals tailored to the needs of passengers on every route, which is why you can count on both vegetarian and diabetic dishes. Moreover, it provides various regular promotions allowing passengers to count not only on cheap flights, but also on special deals in the store.

A very important initiative organised by the airlines is the creation of a carbon dioxide compensation programme in which passengers can participate during the purchase of air tickets. This is an extremely important project that aims to minimise the environmental impact of the aviation industry.
